Drag Name Origin
Pumpkyn Spyce was not always Dillon’s chosen drag name. Finding a drag name functions similarly to choosing a wand in the Harry Potter Universe, many options present themselves but eventually the right one chooses you.
When he first began he worked under the name Gingerbread to draw attention to his ginger hair. Shortly after he decided to find something else and spent many months trying on different monickers. Some included; Perdita Pryne, Ruby Red and Cyanide Susan.
Eventually while at a Starbucks in the fall, Dillon’s friend referred to the Pumpkin Spice Latte as “the whitest drink to ever white.” Dillon, who is exceptionally pale, was intrigued and noted that the Pumpkin Spice Latte was very white and at the same time orange like a pumpkin. White and orange are the only two colors present in Dillon’s body and so an idea was born. He changed the “I’s” to “Y’s” and from that day has gone by the name Pumpkyn Spyce.
